CMI Insurance has a strong history and bright future
Snapshot: 1980 - 1989
Capitol Marketing Insurance (CMI) was founded in Kentucky on March of 1980 by Robert J. Lightner with a dream "To enrich the heart, life and soul of mankind". The original CMI logo prominently displayed the United States Capitol Building to go along with the only carrier we sold at the time, Capitol American.
These early years saw CMI open up new sales teams in Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois and Alabama.
Snapshot: 1990 - 1999
CMI continued to break carrier records, we saw an explosion of growth with our sales team in each of the states as well as getting licensed in now 29 states so that we can sell throughout the nation to broaden our market. This was also the time that we started broadening our product portfolio by opening up new divisions with Worksite and Medicare.

CMI continued to grow and diversify our services.
Snapshot: 2010 - Present
CMI continues to grow, develop and expand as a full line insurance agency with more products and options than ever before. We saw a new office open up in Barbourville KY and to reflect how broad we have become after all these years CMI launches a new campaign, website and logo for Capitol Marketing Insurance (CMI).
